  5. What does ﾒDeskpopﾓ do?
  6. Deskpop is a Control Strip module which lists all volumes, folders and files currently on the Mac's desktop.
  7. This is especially useful for the (hopefully short) time the desktop is cluttered.
  8. Folders are displayed with the underline style.
  9. Volumes (a.k.a. Disks) are displayed with the bold bold+underline style.
  10. The Trash is displayed with the bold style.

  12. Selecting an item from the Deskpop menu will open it.
  13. Holding down the Control+Option keys will reveal it in the Finder.
  14. Holding down the Control+Shift keys will move the selected item to the Trash.
  15. If the selected item is a volume, Control+Shift+selecting will unmount it and eject it, if itﾕs ejectable.
  16. These key combinations can be modified using the ﾒDeskpop Keysﾓ dialog, which is accessible from the Deskpop menu item with the same name.

  18. Requirements
  19. ･ Mac OS 7.1 or better.
  20. ･ The ﾒControl Stripﾓ Control Panel (from Apple Computer) must be installed.
  21. ･ Scriptable Finder (which is integrated into Mac OS 7.5 and better, I believe).

  23. Installing ﾒDeskpopﾓ
  24. To install Deskpop in Mac OS 8 or better, simply drag it over the active system folder then restart the Mac.
  25. Otherwise, place it in the ﾒControl Strip Modules" folder within the active system folder, then restart the Mac.

  27. If youﾕre not sure if ﾒControl Stripﾓ is installed, look for it in your ﾒControl Panelsﾓ folder.
  28. If itﾕs there, select it, and check the ﾒShow Control Stripﾓ button.

  31. Pass it on, give it away, trash it - I don't mind.
